About Gordon Blair

Gordon is a BACP-registered psychotherapist, and makes use of counselling, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), compassion-focused therapy (CFT) and Attachment Theory to help you if you are experiencing any kind of distress, low mood or impaired functioning.

Sometimes, you might have a lot of anxiety, loneliness, sadness or anger, and you don’t know why or what to do about it. Maybe relationships are difficult. You might feel numb or lacking in confidence or motivation. Your emotions are valid and trying to tell you something. Gordon can help you to reduce symptoms, improve coping methods, and address the root causes.

His believes his therapy motto, ‘clarity and compassion’, sums up his overall approach better than any therapy jargon. It’s ultimately about getting a clear understanding of your situation with the compassion to make the right kind of change, in the right way, at a manageable pace. Things like CBT, CFT and Attachment Theory are all (very useful) tools to help us get there.

Understanding what’s going on is half the battle. Once you begin to understand why you’re struggling, you can get past judging yourself and see a path ahead. If you feel ready, please get in touch.

Gordon works with a range of issues including:

  • Anxiety & stress
  • Social anxiety
  • Low self-esteem / confidence
  • Resentment & assertiveness
  • Trauma & PTSD
  • Loneliness
  • Attachment issues / relationship patterns
  • Depression
